Great use of the entire frame and captured at the right moment. Black and white is a good choice here.
The Flash lighting is a bit harsh. The light is very bright in the center of the frame but quickly fades away as it radiates outward from the center. It also produced hard shadows on the left side. A diffuser or soft-box would help. Otherwise, the soft light coming from a window (in place of the flash) would also work.
